Members of religious minorities cannot join the armed forces and, according to the 1987 Law of the Islamic Republic Military, this option is reserved only for Muslims. Also, according to the Islamic Penal Code, if the victim of a murder is a Muslim then the murderer is punished by qisas (“retribution”), but if the victim belongs to a religious minority then the murderer has only to pay diya or “blood money.”
What is more, the diya for a murdered Muslim was higher than the blood money for a non-Muslim. But the sixth Islamic Republic Parliament (2000-2004) changed this, and ruled that the diya for both Muslims and non-Muslims must be equal. The Guardian Council, which must approve all laws, rejected this, but the parliamentarians insisted and the Expediency Council overruled the Guardian Council.
Another example of legal discrimination against minorities is testimony in court. Iranian law does not accept the testimony of a non-Muslim against a Muslim — whatever the case.

Sunday some 180 Christian families filed a lawsuit against Mousawi who
said in a televised interview that the Christians in Iraq which is a
Muslim country should be treated as dhimmis.

in his class on the interpretation of the Quran in Qom’s Amir
al-Momenin Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Mazaheri said, “The Islamic
Republic will stand with all its might against the sabotage by the
Zionist Jews.”
The
revered Shi’ah cleric referred to verse 114 of Surah al-Baqarah, and
said, “In my last lecture, I said that after the death of Moses, the
Jews acknowledged a lot of prophets but because of their love of the
position and the world, they opposed other religions and they sabotaged
the affairs of the prophets, including Prophet Solomon, Shu’ayb and
David and in the addition to this sabotage, they killed religious people

Iranian Christians have either been forced to leave the country or have

old cemetery of Armenians and Christians in “Kermanshah” city, like
many other ancient cemeteries and Christian historical places in Iran,
has been destroyed, due to careless and opportunist officials who have
not taken any actions for these ancients legacies.
(Kermanshah has the biggest population of Kurdish people and is the most important city in the west portion of Iran.)
According
to the videos and photos that have been sent by eye witnesses to the
news agency of “Mohabat News,” the municipality of Kermanshah has
attempted to destroy these historical places intentionally.
Previous extremists elements broke the grave stones having the approval of security agencies and mobilization (Basij) Force.
Notwithstanding
that a huge portion of these lands have been taken by the municipality
with different excuses only a small area with very few graves remained
until now and those have been attacked recently.

As
an example, the municipality of Ahvaz has destroyed the Christian
graveyards and stolen the crosses on the graves of Armenians and the
Polish.
The
other incident is the destruction of ” British Cemetery” of the
Christian Cemetery in Busheher, which has been used by Armenians and
Christians. These lands were sold later on and many constructions took
place on those lands.
Also, the historical graveyard in ” Ghale
Dokhtar” area in Kerman Province, was also completely ruined. This
graveyard was approximately more than 200 years old.
Historical
Church of Kerman was also recorded as one of the national legacies of
Iran, however, it was completely destroyed. This church was recorded as
one of the national legacies in 2008 and was supposed to be under the
full protection and repair, but it was completely destroyed with unknown
reasons in August, 2012.
The
cemetery of Christians in Tehran (Dulab) which goes back to Reza Shah
has buried many polish soldiers and officers after the second world war,
many physicians in Pahlavi Court and many Armenian artists and
Catholics and evangelicals; and is in real danger of destruction and a
portion of this place might be taken by Tehran Municipality.
Some
of the Christian graveyards in Tehran, are also in the danger of
destruction, such as the International Graveyard of Evangelical
Christians in Tehran which few of the graves were replaced about six
years ago! This replacement was due to the road construction connecting
Tehran to Ghom.

Christianity
has been growing at an exponential rate in the last couple of decades
in Iran, causing the Islamic government a great deal of concern. In a
most recent expression of their distress, one of the high profile
Islamic seminary officials, Ayatollah Alavi Boroujerdi, stated “accurate
reports indicate that the youth are becoming Christians in Qom and
attending house churches”.
However, this is not a new development.
Earlier reports had also shown a surprising rise in the number of
Iranians turning away from Islam and converting to Christianity.
One
of the most senior Islamic Shi’ite clerics who has repeatedly expressed
his concern over the spread of Christianity among the youth in the
country is Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi. He, as well as most of his
colleagues blame the foreign influence for the conversion of young
Iranians to Christianity.

Christian children in two large Iranian cities have been told to either study Shia Islam or leave school.
The
children are members of the non-Trinitarian ‘Church of Iran’
denomination in the northern city of Rasht, near the Caspian Sea, and
the historical southern city of Shiraz, respectively.
Until
recently the children were exempt from studying Islam provided they
could present a signed letter from their denomination exempting them,
but the authorities are now rejecting the letter on the grounds the
denomination is an “illegal organisation”, according to advocacy
organisation Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

the Sepah, several Christians in Tehran, Rey, and Pardis areas were*
identified and arrested as a result of a video having been published in
which dozens of Bibles, textbooks, theological notes, and CDs that had
been stored and discovered by the Sepah.

sources have not explained about the identity of the arrested people or
their numbers, however they have claimed that: “they was a large
network in which they were attempting in undermining the Abrahamic
religions, disturbing public opinion, and distraction of public and
cyberspaces using the excuse of promoting Christianity and holding house

On September 2, the Iranian Students’ News Agency reported [Persian
link] that Sepanta Niknam, a Zoroastrian member of Yazd City Council,
would no longer be allowed to carry out his activities as city
councillor. “According to Islamic jurists in the Guardian Council,
membership of a Zoroastrian in Yazd City Council is against sharia
laws,” said the Guardian Council’s spokesman Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei. On
September 4, Iranian media reported that the Court of Administrative
Justice had issued a ruling forbidding Sepanta Niknam from continuing
his work at the council.
The
ban was actually announced in April, a month before local elections,
which took place on May 19, the same day as the presidential election.
On April 18, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, who chairs both the Guardian
Council and the Assembly of Experts, issued a directive demanding
that non-Muslims be disqualified from running in the forthcoming local
elections in localities where the majority of the population are Muslim.
He also announced that Article 26 of the City and Village Election Law
was “against sharia.”

As reported by “Mohabat News”,
few photos of “Esther and Mordecai” shrine in Hamedan, one of the
holiest places for Jewish people all over the world, have been published
in social media that show the “Star of David” which used to hang at the
entrance was destroyed intentionally.
According
to the old photos of this building, an iron-made Star of David star was
placed on the glass that lies on top of the entrance door of this holy
shrine in order to protect these glass. However, two sides of this 6
sided Star of David was intentionally cut to make it look it a torch
rather than a star!
Local
sources of “Mohabat News” in Hamedan inquired from the authorities
responsible for this shine and they replied that Basij militia officers
broke the star a few years back, which leads to another question that in
case this is true then why no one has intended to repair this holy star
during these years.

Another
example of this hatred of Jewish people in the Islamic Republic of Iran
goes back to December 2011 in which they tore down few sections of a
dome in Enghelab square in Tehran that was a part of the Tehran subway
ceiling and resembled the Star of David. As a result, Tehran
municipality destroyed the construction of that section of the subway.
The
important point is that this construction was designed by Tehran
municipality engineers. Few weeks before the destruction of such an
expensive construction, the extremists started a rally after the Friday
prayers (Namaz) in front of Tehran University and demanded the
destruction of this new and expensive construction. They accused the
municipality which was headed by “Mohammad Ghalibaf” at that time, of
promoting Judaism in Iran.

سازش کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے بیان کیا : یہودی قوم پیغمبر اکرم صلی اللہ
علیہ و آلہ وسلم کی رسالت کے بعد حضرت سے حسادت کرنے لگے اور متعدد جنگ کی ،
اسلام کے لئے بہت زیادہ مشکلات و سازش ایجاد کی ۔
حضرت
آیت الله نوری همدانی نے بیان کیا : ہم لوگوں کو تاریخ اسلام کا مطالعہ
اور اسلام کے خلاف یھود کی سازش سے آشنائی کے ذریعہ ان مسائل سے سبق حاصل
کرنا چاہیئے اور صیہونیستون کی سازش کو ناکام بنانے کی کوشش کرنی چاہیئے ۔
انہوں
نے اپنی گفت و گو کے سلسلہ کو جاری رکھتے ہوئے بیان کیا : یھودیوں کی
تاریخ ایک شرمناک تاریخ ہے اور مسلمانوں کو فلسطین میں صیہونی ظالم حکومت

وقت قدس شریف کا مسئلہ مسلمانوں کے لئے بنیادی مسئلہ ہے اور مسلمانوں کو

میں باقی رہنے کی اجازت نہ دیں اور اگر مسلمان عزت ، عظمت ، اور قدرت و

حفاظت ہم سب کا وظیفہ ہے اگر قران سے دریافت کیا جائے کہ قدس کے سلسلے میں
ہمارا وظیفہ کیا ہے تو جواب ملے گا کہ قیام کرئے اور ھرگز صھیونیوں اور
سامراجیت کے مقابل سکوت نہ کریں ۔

الله جوادی آملی نے مزید کہا: ان کی نگاہ میں انسانوں کے مسائل اور
انسانیت کی کوئی اہمیت نہیں ہے ، جانب قران کریم نے اس بات کی کئی جگہ
تکرار بھی کی ہے ۔ قران کریم نے فرمایا کہ کفار سے جنگ کرو کیوں کہ یہ عھد
شکن اور بے وفا ہیں ، البتہ وہ کفار جو تم سے مقابلہ نہیں کرتے ان سے نہ
الجھو ، ان سے دوستانہ تعلقات قائم کرو ، لہذا انسانوں کو قران کی اس بات
پر دھیان دینا چاہئے اور عھد شکن کفار کے مقابل سیسہ پلائی دیوار بن جانا
چاہئے تاکہ ان کے دلوں میں خود و ہراس بیٹھا رہے ۔

On Monday, December 25, worshippers arrived at the city’s Hadash Synagogue to find that prayer books had been thrown into toilets and scrolls from the Torah had been torn up — drawing immediate condemnation from the international Jewish community, which appealed to Iranian authorities to protect Jews living in the Islamic Republic.
One day before, unknown perpetrators attacked the Kashi Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in the ancient city.
“Hadash Synagogue was just recently renovated and so it did not have a good security and alarm system,” Pooya Dayanim, President of the Iranian Jewish Public Affairs Committee (IJPAC), told IranWire. “In the past few days two or three attempts were made to enter the synagogue by breaking down the door. They succeeded on the night of December 24. They tore up two Torah scrolls. They also damaged three other scrolls and threw a number of siddurs [a set order of daily prayers] into toilets.” Dayanim said the damage done at Hadash was “far greater,” but expressed that both attacks were shocking and extremely troubling.
This is not the first time that Shiraz synagogues have been attacked by unknown vandals, but it is the first time that Torah scrolls — considered to be holy by Muslims and Jews alike, have been desecrated. “A few years ago another synagogue in Shiraz was attacked and Torah scrolls were stolen,” said Dayanim. “Around a year later the Revolutionary Guards said that they had found the scrolls and had returned them to the temple. But never have the holy books and the Torah been desecrated or damaged like this.”

مشرکان در هر دو صورت بازنده هستند زیرا چه در صورت پیروزی و چه شکست، در دنیا و آخرت عذاب می بیند؛ در آیه 53 بیان شده است که منافقان مقداری انفاق کردند ولی خدا می گوید که این انفاق را از آنها نمی پذیرد.
The idol worshipers in either case are losers because in the event of victory or failure, they are tormented in the world and the hereafter; it is stated in verse 53 that the hypocrites spend a little, but God says that he does not accept the charity.
ایشان یادآور شدند: زیرا این گروه جزو قوم فاسقین هستند؛ قرآن کریم در هر عملی به دو پرونده رجوع می کند که نخست نیت عمل و دوم نفس عمل است؛ وقتی کسی از اطاعت خدا و پیامبر بیرون می آید و عمل خیری انجام می دهد، آن عمل خیر به نوعی ریاکاری است نه عمل خیر؛ فسق به معنی خروج از طاعت خداست.
They reminded him: because this group is one of the forbidden people;
the Holy Qur'an refers to two cases in each action, which is first of
all intentional and the second is the act of action; when one follows
the obedience of God and the Prophet and does good deeds, That good deed
is some kind of hypocrisy, not good deed; debauchery means leaving
God's obedience.

It was stated in this Qur'anic statement that it is not stated in the
Qur'an that the status of a polytheist is not to build a mosque because
his work is for hypocrisy, and therefore his action is worthless; one
can build a mosque that is believer and is bound by divine ordinances .
ایشان با ذکر یک شبهه در خصوص مخترعان بزرگ جهان و آینده آنها در آخرت، ابراز داشتند: برخی مردم می گویند چرا ادیسون نباید در آخرت، اجر و پاداش بگیرد؟ پاسخ آن است که اگر وی و پاستور و سایر دانشمندان کار خود را برای خدا انجام داده باشند مسلما اجر دارد ولی اگر برخی شهرت و فساد این کار را کرده باشد قطعا اجری نخواهد داشت.

The Supreme Leader recalled that the reason why the action of the
enemies is not acceptable is because their works are not for God and
they do not accept God and the Prophet; the infidel does not have the
right to wage and pay from God; the United States and some other
countries help some of the poor countries. But in the first place, it is

2019: Iranian Assyrian Christians Pastor Bet Tamraz and his wife, Shamiram Isavi, have been sentenced to 10 and five years in prison respectively by order of Judge Mashallah Ahmadzadeh of Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court.
Amir Salar Davoodi, the couple’s defense attorney, has himself been sentenced to 15 years in prison and is currently detained in Evin Prison. Judge Ahmadzadeh, who oversaw the verdicts of at least 16 Christian converts since 2017, giving them long jail sentences, has since been removed from office for financial corruption.

After this, not only did Christian converts have nowhere to pray, but Iran’s other Christian religious minorities, including Assyrians and Protestants, were also banned from having a church. Dabrina Bet Tamraz says that by 2014, all churches under the Assemblies of God (AOG) denomination were shut down.“Now only Catholic and Orthodox churches [traditional churches] can operate in Iran because they never spoke Persian in them. All Assyrian and Protestant churches, which are known as AOG, provided some services in the Persian language. Now, with AOG churches being shut down, Assyrians and Protestants can only go to traditional churches to worship.”
